The Scuola Normale Superiore is a public institution of university education characterized by unique features. The selection of its students is made only on the basis of their merit, the lessons are held in seminars form, there is a deep link between didactic and research as well as a well amalgamated collegiate life and a great bent for international exchanges according to the best model of the European University Higher Schools.
In a sole context professors, researchers and students cohabit, didactic and laboratory activities are carried on, cultural events occur as well as experimental activities.
The activities at the Scuola are traditionally carried on within two divisions: theFaculty of Arts and the Faculty of Sciences. The didactic offer to the students consists of two levels: the undergraduate level and the doctoral level.
The great resource of the Normale is represented by the quality of its students. They are selected on the basis of their merit through an ad hoc public competition, they live in a completely gratuitous collegiate system and follow an education path based on a natural blend of experiences, researches, closer examinations and glances of intuition.
